Consumer Guarantees Act 1993

Where the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply, these terms will be read subject to the application of that Act, and in the case of any conflict, the provisions of that Act will apply.

Stock Availability

If an item is out of stock, we will email you within 2 working days of placing your order. Please email info@ngaitahu.iwi.nz or telephone us on (+64 3 363 8916).. to check stock availability if delivery of your order is urgent.

How will my order be sent?

All New Zealand orders are sent by Track and Trace with New Zealand Couriers. Delivery can be to your home, work or Rural Delivery. All packages are sent with signature required unless the address is a Rural Delivery. If no one is at home when the courier delivers, a card will be left for you to contact the courier depot to organise re-delivery.

When will my order be sent?

If payment is made by Credit Card through our website your order will be dispatched within 2 working days. We will email you with the tracking number when we dispatch your order, to confirm it is on the way.

How long will delivery take?

Our aim is for you to receive your purchase just as soon as possible, and we will do our best to deliver it to you within 2 working days of receipt of payment. However, if you have not received it within 5 business days you should contact New Zealand Couriers with the tracking number we will supply you with at dispatch of your order. We are not liable for any loss or damage suffered by you through delay in delivery.

Delivery Costs

Postage is charged at the price displayed with the item on the website.

International Deliveries

International deliveries are available however for any orders shipped outside of New Zealand the customer is the importer of record and will be responsible for all customs import duties and sales tax charges. These charges vary in each country and are outside of our control. Contact your local customs office for more information on what import duties or sales taxes may be imposed.

Returns Policy

Cancelling an order

If you wish to cancel an order after you have placed it, please contact us immediately.

We will try our best to stop any non-shipped items in your order from being sent. However, this will not always be possible.

Items that have already been shipped cannot be cancelled from your order, but you may be able to return them, subject to our returns policy.

Returns Policy Terms & Conditions

  1. A restocking fee applies to all returns where Ngāi Tahu Publications is not at fault. The fee is 20% of the purchase price ($10 maximum). This fee goes towards the costs incurred by us in processing the return.
  2. Returns that have not been pre-arranged will not be accepted.
  3. Requests for return must be received within 10 business days of delivery.
  4. Returns must be in resellable condition and must not show any visible signs of having been used.
  5. After the return has been authorised, the returned goods must be postmarked within 4 business days.
  6. Any returns are shipped at the customer’s risk and we do not take responsibility for any items that are lost or damaged in transit back to us.
  7. Exchanges cannot be facilitated. Customers who wish to exchange a purchase for a different item may return the former for a refund, if authorised, and purchase the desired item separately.
  8. Accepted returns will be refunded via the payment method used for the original order.
  9. In cases where we are at fault, damaged or defective items will be replaced or refunded in full. See Damaged or defective Items.

Damaged or Defective Items

We endeavour to ensure that all orders we ship are well packaged. However, on rare occasions damage will be sustained to packages in transit.

We will also never knowingly ship a defective item to a customer. If you receive a damaged or defective item from us, please contact us immediately and we will work to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

Please do not return an item without contacting us first.

Incorrect Items

On very rare occasions, customers may receive incorrect items in place of the ones they have ordered. If you receive an item from us that does not match the one you ordered, please contact us immediately and we will work to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

Additonal clauses

We do not recommend that cash be mailed for payment of any item. If the Customer does mail cash, we do not accept responsibility for the theft, loss or otherwise non-delivery of mailed cash.
