Information Evenings

During the busy summer season, we employ over 500 people in our 13 tourism businesses around Aotearoa.

Our kaimahi do all sorts of things; they drive buses and jet boats, fly helicopters, they guide tour groups in the bush, on glaciers, and through the night sky.

They‘re mechanics, designers, chefs, and front of house superstars who work hard to manaaki our manuhiri.

We really want to see more Ngāi Tahu working in tourism and becoming leaders. So we’re coming to your town to talk to you about cadetships, scholarships, and job opportunities.

In particular, we want to let whānau know about Earth & Sky, our star-gazing business, which is currently building a state-of-the-art “international astronomy centre” on the shores of Lake Takapō.

The centre opens in 2019 and as well as being a base for the existing star gazing tours, it will also be home to a new daytime astronomy experience and a fully serviced cafe and bar. This means we need extra guides, chefs, kitchen hands, front of house staff, and customer service reps.

We want to attract Ngāi Tahu into these roles and we’re running a series of hui to let whānau know more about these opportunities.

All hui are from 6:00-8:00PM
