New Chief Executive Ngāi Tahu Holdings Corporation

2 September, 2009

The Chair of Ngāi Tahu Holdings Corporation Ltd, Trevor Burt, announced today the appointment of Greg Campbell as Chief Executive.

“We are fortunate to have attracted someone with extremely high-level leadership experience back to Te Waipounamu,” says Mr Burt.

Chief Executive Officer with ASX-listed Transpacific Industries Australasia, Greg Campbell will be coming home to head Ngāi Tahu’s corporate body and to re-establish his family in Christchurch.

Mr Campbell has a lengthy managerial career, and led Transpacific New Zealand prior to his promotion as CEO of Transpacific Industries Australasia. In New Zealand, he was key in a number of major acquisitions and transitions including that of Waste Management New Zealand (previously NZX listed), Onyx and Nuplex Liquid Industries. In Christchurch, he is also well known for his role as Managing Director of Red Bus, a position he held from July 1999 to October 2005.

Trevor Burt says, “Greg brings with him the experience of running a large ASX Listed Company with over 5000 staff and an annual turnover of $2 billion. As well, he has the experience of running a major Christchurch enterprise, but I suspect that the enticement of returning his family home has helped us to secure Greg’s expertise.

“Greg has extensive commercial experience and is the right person to lead the company’s next phase of development.”

Mr Campbell’s career has included management positions with BP and Skellerup Industries. He holds directorships with a number of transport and waste management companies and is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management.

Mr Campbell was born in Dunedin but moved to Christchurch when very young and attended Burnside High School. He later studied at Massey University where he received his MBA.

Mr Campbell will take up his new role in early November.
