Kia ora! Are you passionate about the outdoors, love working on the water, and thrive on delivering unforgettable experiences? Join Ngāi Tahu Tourism, one of Aotearoa's largest and most iconic tourism operators, as a Funyak Guide with Dart River Adventures.

Based in Glenorchy, you'll guide manuhiri (visitors) on our unique Funyak (inflatable canoe) experience — a journey that combines exhilarating jet boating with serene paddling through the spectacular Dart River and Mt Aspiring National Park. Along the way, you'll share stories, host a wilderness picnic, and explore the stunning Rockburn Chasm. This role will also see you transport guests safely and comfortably between Queenstown and the river, creating a warm, engaging, and memorable experience aboard our tour bus.

What you'll bring:

We're looking for outdoor enthusiasts who:

  • Love nature and adventure
  • Are confident storytellers and engaging hosts
  • Work well in a team and under pressure
  • Are physically fit and safety-conscious
  • Have experience guiding in dynamic outdoor environments
  • Are open to learning and sharing Ngāi Tahu culture and stories
  • Can work shifts across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays

Preferred qualifications:

  • Full, clean NZ driver's licence (Class 2 and P Endorsement desirable or ability to obtain)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Recent River Rescue course (within the last 3 years)
