Whenua Kura scholarships now available
In a bid to get more Māori leading the way in best-practice farming, Whenua Kura is now offering full-fee scholarships to help successful applicants through their studies.
Open to all Māori, applications for the course close on 22 June.
To give you an idea of the earning potential the dairy industry can offer, farm manager and rural adviser salaries range from $75,000 to $100,000 plus, depending on farm size and level of responsibility.
In addition, salary packages can include a profitability share and/or incentive scheme, accommodation, a work truck, mobile phone, health and life insurance, KiwiSaver, wet weather gear, training and personal development.
The Whenua Kura is a Ngāi Tahu-led partnership between Te Tapuae o Rehua, Ngāi Tahu Farming and Lincoln University, which seeks to grow Māori leadership in agriculture.
The Whenua Kura scholarship covers tuition fees only and does not cover accommodation and books. Should you require assistance in finding accommodation, please enquire.
