Wage Subsidy Extension

The Wage Subsidy Extension will be available from 10 June 2020 until 1 September 2020 so employers can keep paying their employees. The government announced a change in criteria from 50% revenue drop to a 40% revenue drop over a 40 day period. Applications open from 9am on Wednesday, 10 June 2020.

Regional Business Partner (RBP)
We are currently undertaking a pilot where Ngāi Tahu whānau businesses are able to work with our Puna Pakihi Growth Advisors to support their access to the Regional Business Partners (RBP) COVID and Capability vouchers.

To access RBP vouchers you will need to have the following:

  • GST Registered
  • NZ Business Number
  • Currently trading
  • Have less than 50 Employees
  • Show a willingness and commitment to grow their business

A 0800 4POUTAMA (0800 4768 8262) Covid-19 Māori Business support line for Māori businesses has been launched to give you direct access to specialist advisors who can provide the support you require as business owners and employers during these difficult times.

NZ Māori Tourism, FOMA, POUTAMA, and Māori Women’s Development Inc. have united to fully utilize our collective resources, expertise, and networks to support you as Covid-19 continues to impact on us all.

The 0800 line will be open from 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday. This service is available to all Māori businesses adversely affected by Covid-19.
