Preparing – COVID-19 in the takiwā

COVID-19 may become more widespread in the takiwā as people travel for summer.

It’s a good idea to kōrero, wānanga and plan what to do if you or someone in your whare contracts COVID-19. Here is a guide to help get started: Kete Whanau

If you or someone in your whare start having COVID-19 symptoms, call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice.  Symptoms are often like a cold or flu. Wear a mask and get tested.


If you or someone in your whānau test positive for COVID-19, please phone us on 0800 KĀI TAHU.

When someone tests positive for COVID-19 a health team should get in touch about what to do. They will send you a health pack. If that does not happen, please let us know by phoning 0800 KĀI TAHU, so that we can help. Here is some health information about Self Isolation at Home
