Rautaki Rangatahi

Do you have a passion for ensuring the voice of Ngāi Tahu rangatahi is heard?
Would you like to contribute to making this a reality?

Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu wants to hear from you! To ensure we represent the needs and aspirations of Ngāi Tahu rangatahi in our plans, programmes, and services, we’re forming a Rautaki Rangatahi Working Party to help us develop a Rangatahi Strategy.

What is the Rautaki Rangatahi Working Party?

The working party will have up to 16 rangatahi including at least two representatives from each of the following age groups:

  • 12-15 years
  • 16-18 years
  • 19-25 years

It will be co-chaired by one of the rangatahi (elected at the first meeting) and a senior leader from Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu.

What will the Rautaki Rangatahi Working Party do?

Members will meet at a summit in August, and once before then if possible, to develop a report that will provide the foundation of Rangatahi Strategy. Travel costs to meetings will be covered by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and a koha will be provided for meeting attendance.
