Kaiwhakahaere Tuarua (Deputy Chair) Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu
Tania is committed to her Rūnanga and iwi and has spent most of her career working for Ngāi Tahu within the rohe. This has included a role as Whai Rawa advisor with Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, Kaiawhina at Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri Rūnanga and her current role as Kaihautū/ Chief Executive at Mahaanui Kurataiao.
As Kaihautū of Mahaanui Kurataiao, Tania is responsible for managing all aspects of the business and ensuring sustainable and successful outcomes. She also has prime responsibility for managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
Tania has excellent executive and governance skills and understands the unique points of difference in the Te Rūnanga processes. Her commitment is to ensure that the voice of Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri is heard at a governance level and that whānau, hapū and rūnanga aspirations are reflected in decision making within Te Rūnanga.
Tania understands that Papatipu Rūnanga must be strong and sustainable and she works hard to make sure that the right levels of support are available to deliver regional rangatiratanga across Te Rūnanga decision making.
Tania can whakapapa to both Ngāi Tahu and Ngā Puhi.
