Mazzetta Company Scholarship Fund is a Trust for the advancement of education.
The Mazzetta Scholarships aim is to support registered Ngāi Tahu whānau and other Māori in their career development in the fishing and/or seafood industry. This includes (but is not limited to) commercial fishing and processing, marine biology, aquaculture, marine science, sea fisheries and freshwater fisheries.
Eligibility
- be of Māori descent (non-Ngāi Tahu may apply);
- be enroled in an NZQA Tertiary level study or international equivalent;
- be engaged in or seeking to engage in the fishing or seafood industry;
- be seeking to advance their education in the fishing or seafood industry, preferably in areas related to commercial fishing and processing.
Level of Funding Available
Approved amounts will be based on the level of funding available, and the number of applications received.
Open/Close Date
This Scholarship is open from 1 February to 1 April.
The outcome of scholarship applications will be advised in May.

Apply on Te Kopa Ora - Ngāi Tahu Grants Portal
If you are registered Ngāi Tahu you will need your six-digit whakapapa registration number and password to log in.

Required Documentation
To complete this application on Te Kopa Ora, you will need:
- Confirmation of enrolment from your provider showing the total number of credits or EFTS you are enroled in for the current academic year. If required, a template for this can be downloaded here.
- Completed budget breakdown indicating what you are requiring the Mazzetta Scholarship to fund. An example template can be found here.
