Guided Walks New Zealand, which is operated by Ngāi Tahu Tourism, has earned Qualmark’s Gold Sustainable Tourism Business Award.

This recognition is a testament to the company's unwavering commitment to preserving New Zealand's unique natural environment while delivering high-quality, safe experiences for visitors.

Qualmark, New Zealand’s leading tourism accreditation organisation, recently expanded its evaluation criteria to honour businesses dedicated to safeguarding New Zealand's distinctive attributes.

The award highlights the company's efforts in protecting the environment, fostering connections with local iwi and communities, and ensuring a top-notch experience for manuhiri (visitors).

"We are thrilled to receive the Qualmark Sustainable Tourism Business Award, which reflects our ongoing dedication to environmental stewardship and providing exceptional experiences for our visitors," says Guided Walks New Zealand General Manager Adam Dooney.

"We appreciate Qualmark’s thorough and robust evaluation criteria and challenge ourselves and others to continuously strive for excellence in sustainable tourism practises,” Adam Dooney says.

The Qualmark Gold Award is proof of Guided Walks New Zealand's dedication to sustainable tourism practices, and it provides consumers with assurance of the company's commitment to excellence.

The achievement aligns with the Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu climate action plan, Te Kounga Paparangi, which guides the organisation as it takes on challenge of climate change.
